...unlike these guys. This video is a great metaphor for teaching. I like t-shirts but finding decent looking ones that aren't over priced and actually fit me properly can be a hassle. If I could be guaranteed that the sizing would be right I'd get one from Design By Humans. This site has designers submitting their ideas, that are printed up into t-shirts that can be ordered from the site and has a voting system for t-shirt of the day. There are heaps of great designs but being a conservative person, many that I would not wear. Like this one. It's cool but a 40 years plus person like me would look a bit dorky in it. This has a very unique concept - zoom in to see all of the meta- phoric map names. Again, white t-shirts don't suit me at all. I could see myself in this. Now, about that sizing... Still on the surf theme from the last post. Got the autobiography "occy" for Christmas and I'm about half way through. I thought I'd google him and found this great Flash based Billabong site - click on the Tribute To Occy for a great video montage of his career. I thought the music was familiar and put my finger on it - "Wonderful Life" by the Celibate Rifles. Always been fascinated by surf culture (especially in Australia) even though I always lacked the skills (and courage to be truthful) to be a participant. Still got a whole stack of mid 80's Surfing World mags out in the outside "office" that I can't bear to throw away. Beautiful photography, unique characters ... this film has all of that as well. Via Smashing Magazine, this great list of 50 comic strips from around the world. I only got a few examples down before getting completely absorbed with the strip Yo & Dude, created by eric Hews. Handily hosted on flickr, it is a curious mix of C and CC content - here's an apparently CC sample to check out. My favourite (which I can't publish here) is this one. |
